Occupational Therapist (Practice Owner)
megan Pelkowitz
Megan is a dedicated therapist with a special interest in Paediatrics. She graduated with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy in 2011 and subsequently completed her community service year in Eshowe, KwaZulu-Natal. She has experience in functional capacity evaluations, adult neuro-rehabilitation, and school-based therapy. She has been working in private practice (Paediatrics) since 2014, when she completed her Masters in Occupational Therapy (Paediatrics, Down Syndrome) through the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal. She is trained in Sensory Integration, EASI, DIR Floortime 201 and Makaton courses 1-4. Her special interests are in a variety of paediatric conditions including developmental delays, sensory integration difficulties, down syndrome, autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, behavioural difficulties, and visual perceptual difficulties. Her passion has and always will be working with children, caregivers, teachers and the allied team to help the child reach their full potential.
Occupational Therapist
Shánna Louwrens
Shánna completed her Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (cum laude), 2011, and thereafter her Master of Occupational Therapy degree (both at the University of Pretoria). Thereafter she went on to further her training in Infant Massage, Ayres Sensory Integration, Bobath Paediatric Neurodevelopmental Therapy and DIR Floortime 201. She is a certified in the SIPT and EASI and is a level 1 Tomatis practitioner. Since then, she has had the opportunity to present her research at local and international congresses, including the International Sensory Integration Congress (Hong Kong). Shánna has worked within the public and private sectors in the field of paediatrics, and she is currently employed at Forest Town School during the week, which is an LSEN school which caters for children with special needs. She is passionate about working in the public sector and providing quality occupational therapy services to children from underprivileged and disadvantaged communities. She has developed a special interest in working with children with various conditions including, Cerebral Palsy, Down’s Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Developmental Delays, Learning Disabilities, Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder, as well as children with Sensory Integration Disorders. She is extremely proud to be an occupational therapist and always strives to deliver holistic therapy, specifically catered to the child’s individual needs within the context of their environment. She strongly believes in working closely with the family, teachers, and other professionals to ensure that therapy can be carried over to all environments.

kate Nowosiad
Kate is a passionate and dedicated therapist, who has a special interest in paediatrics and working with caregivers to support and enable their little one’s development. She graduated with a BSc in Occupational Therapy from the University of Witwatersrand in 2014 and thereafter completed her community service at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital. Kate has worked in both the public and private sectors, and she is in the process of completing her Sensory Integration training. Kate is Interactive Metronome trained and is particularly interested in the role of virtual technology in therapy. She has begun her training in DIR Floortime, and Autism is an area of interest for her. She is a qualified Infant Massage instructor and loves to teach new mothers the role sensory processing plays in early development. Kate is trained in South African Sign Language and is a proud advocate for the Deaf Community. In her spare time, Kate is an avid runner and loves to trail run! She is a new mom and spends every spare moment with her precious little boy!

Angie Sevel
Angie is a passionate and enthusiastic therapist with a special love for paediatric therapy. She graduated in 2021 from Wits University and went on to do her community service at Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital in 2022. Whilst there she gained experience in hand therapy and adult neuro. In 2023, knowing that her passion and devotion lay in the paediatric field, Angie started completing her DIR floortime studies and is on her way to being Sensory integration trained. She has a special interest in, and experience with children with autism, intellectual impairments, behavioural difficulties, learning and visual perception difficulties after spending 2023 at the Centre for Autism. Angie is a young and energetic therapist, she is dedicated to her work and providing holistic therapy with the help of other healthcare professionals, parents, and teachers to her kiddies. Outside of work, she spends most of her time with family and friends, managing her own small business making hair accessories for little girls and she loves to travel and explore the world.

Faye Jackson
Faye is a dedicated therapist with a special interest in Paediatrics and concussion. She graduated with a BSC in Occupational Therapy from the University of Witwatersrand in 2013 and subsequently completed her community service at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital in 2014. Faye has worked in both the public and private sectors. Faye completed her MSc in Occupational Therapy (Paediatrics) at the University of the Witwatersrand in 2019. Faye has been lecturing paediatrics at the University of the Witwatersrand since 2017 and continues to lecture part-time. She is completing her Sensory Integration training. Faye is also pursuing her PhD through the University of the Witwatersrand and Loughborough University in the UK. Faye has special interests in developmental delay, sensory integration and working with both the child and their families to reach their goals. In her spare time, Faye loves to spend time with her husband and son traveling and making memories together.
Paediatric Occupational Therapy evaluates and assists children with achieving independence in their daily lives. Occupational Therapy aids in the development of fine motor skills, cognitive skills, gross motor skills, sensory integration, and visual-motor skills. It helps to determine if delays in these areas affect a child’s ability to function within their world (school, self-care, and socialisation).
The services provide wholistic and comprehensive intervention to address these areas and incorporates all essential people in the child’s life such as parents/ caregivers, teachers, doctors, and other therapists to promote effective carry-over and progress.

Azeemah Mayet-Moola
I am delighted to have the opportunity to introduce myself to you and. I studied Speech and Hearing Therapy at the University of Witwatersrand. After graduating in 2008, I completed my community service at 1 Military Hospital in Pretoria. Thereafter, I furthered my experience and knowledge at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital and Park Lane Clinic. I have started my journey in private practice in 2012 (over 10 years ago!). The practice is located to 29 Tyrone Avenue since in 2019.
First and foremost, I am a mum to two beautiful boys. As well as being a published academic (2011), I have completed a basic and advanced Neuro-Developmental Training (NDT) course and have extensive knowledge and experience in the field of early intervention. I have completed the “It Takes Two to Talk” training hosted by the world renowned Hanen Centre, as well at the advanced PROMPT technique hosted by the PROMPT Institute and the SOS Feeding Approach which targets children with difficult feeding and picky eating. I completed my Masters degree in Early Childhood Intervention in 2014, at the University of Pretoria. My professional knowledge and skills are consistently evolving through continued professional development (CPD) accredited articles and courses.

Nonyameko ‘Nono’ Njongwe
Nono is also an Early Interventionist. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Speech Language and Hearing therapy from Stellenbosch University in 2007; and graduated with a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Intervention from the University of Pretoria in 2014. Her work experience in health, education, research, and NGOs spans over a period of 15 years. She is currently in private practice in Johannesburg. Nono is passionate about removing any barriers to effective communication and learning in children
Speech and Language Therapist
Michelle Servant
Michelle is an experienced and dedicated Speech Therapist, with a rich and diverse professional history. She holds an MA in Linguistics from Stellenbosch University and a BA in Speech and Hearing Therapy from Wits University, and she has extensive remedial experience working as a Speech-Language Therapist within the educational environment.
Prior to returning to full-time private practice in 2023, Michelle worked as the in-house Speech-Language Therapist at a private remedial school for 18 years, where she gained broad experience in speech and language assessments and therapy, reading intervention and literacy support. Michelle also served as the Learning Support Manager from 2016 to 2022. In this role, she successfully managed the multidisciplinary School Based Support Team, coordinating interventions and learning support throughout the school.
Michelle's commitment to ongoing learning is evident through her participation in workshops, courses, and conferences to enhance her skills and knowledge. Throughout her career, she has continued to invest in her professional development, achieving advanced accreditation as an Independent Phono-Graphix Reading Therapist, completing RAVE-O training, and receiving training from the Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network (ASDAN) in the UK. Her dedication to her field is reflected not only in her extensive experience, but also in the leadership roles she has undertaken and the various training programs she has completed.
Most importantly, Michelle has had the privilege of raising three amazing sons, all of whom she considers to be the source of her greatest learning and development.
A Speech-Language Therapist evaluates and assists people develop their communication abilities as well as treat speech, languages, swallowing, and voice disorders. Speech-Language therapy services include prevention, identification, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation within a variety of settings.

Katherine Meyer
Katherine Meyer is a loving wife and mother to two beautiful girls who have had a huge influence on the way she works with children. Katherine qualified as a physiotherapist in 2002 at UCT. She completed her year of community service at Catherine Booth Hospital, in Amatikulu, KZN. Her role was to set up the physiotherapy service and department. Katherine worked in both musculoskeletal and paediatric physiotherapy, but she knew that her passion lay in paediatrics.
Katherine spent five years in London, UK where she gained a wealth of experience working in various outpatient paediatric settings. She was privileged to attend a few courses at the Bobath Centre. Katherine completed her Basic Neurodevelopmental Course (NDT) in 2007 and has completed numerous courses since which include a Baby course with Lois Bly, Dyskinetic course with JP Maes and Vision course with Christa Schotlz.
On returning to SA in 2010, Katherine spent 15 months working in paediatrics in Cape Town. She worked at the CP clinic at Red Cross Childrens Hospital as well as in private practice.
Katherine helped form Physio in the Parks in 2011 and has been working there for the last 12 years. She completed her basic and advanced General Movement Assessment.
Katherine loves working with children and watching them overcome their obstacles and thrive. She loves discovering what her patients are going to teach her and celebrating the small or big wins.

Taryn Spark
Taryn graduated from Wits in 2009. She completed her community service year at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital and stayed on as a permanent staff member for another 4,5 years. During her time at Bara, she worked in both paediatrics and the hand clinic. Taryn joined Physio in the Parks in September 2015, graduated with her Masters degree in 2016, completed the MAES Therapy course in 2017, and became practice co-owner in August 2020.
Taryn loves meeting new children and getting to know their different personalities. Her favourite
moments are the looks of pride and glee on children’s faces when they do something they have never been able to do before. Taryn is a mother to two little girls, and in her free time loves to play Bananagram, take walks, and
spend time with family at the Vaal river.
Physiotherapist
Donna Dudley
Donna’s career started at the University of the Witwatersrand, from which she received her BSc in 2006. After completing her community service at Edenvale Hospital, she began specializing in paediatrics at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, where she worked in various paediatric wards (including paeds ICU; burns; hameophilia; orthopaedic and general wards) and was a part of the Cerebral Palsy Clinic for 5 years. She completed her NDT training in 2010.
In 2012 she moved to the Netcare Rehabilitation Hospital in Auckland Park where she joined the paediatric team and got to work with children with a multitude of special needs, syndromes and disabilities. She completed her Masters Degree in paediatrics in 2012 and the MAES therapy course in 2018. She is also passionate about providing chest therapy to children with respiratory problems, in particular where it is related to neurological or chronic respiratory conditions. She has a further special interest in Haemophilia and enjoys working with both adults and children with this condition.

Alison Bradfield
Alison graduated from Wits with a BSc in Physiotherapy in 2017. She has 5 years’ experience with paediatric patients with a variety of conditions, including school-based, neurological, orthopaedic and hospital-based rehabilitation. She completed her MAES therapy course in 2021, a groundbreaking approach to treating neurological conditions, specifically cerebral palsy.
Alison takes a playful approach to therapy, and her love for working with children shines through with every session.
In her free time, Alison can be found spending time with her family and walking her two rescue pups

Tali Lever
Tali, a dedicated physiotherapist, qualified from Wits university in 2017. After completing her studies, she served a year of community service at Thelle Mogoerane Regional Hospital.
In 2019, she joined Life New Kensington Clinic, where she has been working diligently with patients of all ages. While Tali has gained valuable experience in both adult and paediatric physiotherapy, she has found her true calling in helping children.
As a paediatric physiotherapist, Tali is committed to assisting young patients in reaching their full potential by addressing their physical challenges through tailored, gentle, and effective treatment plans.
A paediatric physiotherapist assesses and treats a wide range of developmental, neurological, muscular and orthopaedic conditions. Our aim is to help babies, children, and young people from birth to 18 years achieve their optimal physical development. Intervention is play based so that the child is engaged in the intervention and strengthens their muscles without realizing they are working
